This is my comfort food blog
“After a good dinner one can forgive anybody, even one's own relations.”
Do you still have the faint memory of eating the raw mango during summer holidays? The spicy masala with the absolute sour slices. Oh, you felt so alive. And then the cold beverages of summer, the comforting meals made my mom and of course, the ice cream with cousins at the end of the day. All these memories are so connected with one absolute need of ours, that is food. It is so strange that a need can be so relevant and fulfilling in our lives, but only when served right. We do have these foods occasionally as well, but do you not think it's the experience that counts. The people you have it with, the way it is given to you or even the surrounding you are having it with.
I mean, maggi is such a commonly consumed food around, the same in a hostel alone is so different than making it with tons of memories with your friends. It does make a difference if you eat the food with your loved one’s, you might feel more fulfilled in your stomach even if you haven’t had a lot of food and when alone, if you are not in the best of moods, no matter how much you eat, it does not make a difference how you eat. And thus, even how the food is presented to you. The fine dine experiences you have, are not just what you eat but also upon how it is presented to you, hence the high prices.
I know, this is common knowledge but it is also a reminder that it really matters how you eat your food. It is so important to have even your breakfast or your favourite beverage in a healthy environment. It builds a healthy relationship with food for you. It makes you feel at peace with your body, even when it is alone. So next time, if you cook food and even if it is just for you, remember to take efforts to plate it well too, because you deserve the efforts you keep giving others.
